Telephone lines

Options

There are several types of lines that can be connected into
your premises, but all of them will be bought into the building via a solid conductor copper cable, or Fibre optic cable. A major factor to what you can use will depend whats available in your location and your budget. We can advise whats best for you, with whats available in your area.

Standard PSTN lines

These are lines provided by / from your local exchange on a single copper pair.
These are used predominantly for the delivery of ADSL Broadband and FTTC broadband.
They are also used for Alarm lines, PDQ Payment card terminals, Fax, and for standard telephone
lines which can be single or multiple on the same number.
We can usually supply a new connection within 7 – 14 days.

ISDN Lines

These are digital lines (ISDN2e ISDN30) and are presented again on copper cable into the building.
ISDN is due to be phased out in the near future, but we believe that existing services will not be affected for many years.
These types of lines will remain an only viable service for customers in areas where the broadband service is very poor, and will provide a very reliable and stable connection.
Peach can still supply ISDN and lead times are around 14 days.

SIP Lines

VOIP / SIP lines are virtual lines that connect via a data connection into the main telephony network.
The benefits are wide and varied and include the ability to have any national / international (Subject to acceptance) number associated with the service. Moving premises is no longer an issue, as all numbers can be retained without any disruption. The service is cheaper and more flexible than fixed line services. Peach can supply and implement SIP trunking usually within 30 minutes.
